Resumen

This Subpart of Part 622 of the Code of Federal Regulations provides rules for commercial shrimp fishery in the EEZ in the Gulf of Mexico. The only valid commercial vessel permits for Gulf shrimp are commercial vessel moratorium permits for Gulf shrimp. In accordance with the procedures specified in the Fishery Management Plan for the Shrimp Fishery of the Gulf of Mexico (Gulf Shrimp FMP), all commercial vessel moratorium permits for Gulf shrimp have been issued. No additional permits will be issued. The Regulations set out requirements regarding recordkeeping and reporting, NMFS-approved observers on board of vessels, installation of bycatch reduction devices, closed areas, size limits. They also concern Annual catch limits (ACLs), annual catch targets (ACTs), and accountability measures (AMs) and adjustment of management measures by the Regional Administrator (RA).
