Resumen

This Subpart of Part 665 of Title 50 of the Federal Code of Regulations concerns fishing in the western Pacific Pelagic fishery management area, which includes all areas of fishing operations in the EEZ or on the high seas for any vessels of the United States or persons that: (a) fish for, possess, or transship western Pacific pelagic fishery management unit species within the EEZ waters around American Samoa, CNMI, Guam, Hawaii, or PRIA; or (b) Land western Pacific pelagic fishery MUS in American Samoa, CNMI, Guam, Hawaii, or PRIA. Fishing is prohibited in all notake Marine Protected Areas designated in this Subpart. Regulations concern, among other things, gear use restrictions, various prohibitions, sea turtle take mitigation measures, Western Pacific longline fishing restrictions, Pelagic longline seabird mitigation measures, territorial catch and fishing effort limits by Regional Administrator. Western Pacific pelagic management unit species includes sharks.
