Subject to this Regulation, demersal (bottom) trawling for fish or shrimp is permitted in the territorial waters of the North Coast at a distance outside off two nautical miles from that coast defined in the Schedule (reg.3, comma 1). Comma 2 of regulation 3 specifies mesh sizes of trawl nets or chafing gear. No trawling is permitted in the East Coast, defined in the Schedule. Regulation 5 places restrictions on trawling off the South Coast, whereas regulation 6 restricts trawling with vessels of a certain kind in the Gulf of Paria.
