It defines powers and duties of the Department of Fish and Wildlife and provides for effective wildlife management and protection and enhancement of game and fish stock. It also introduces new programmes and provides for the establishment of cooperative hunting areas. It also empowers the Fish and Game Commission to designate, delete, or modify state marine recreational management areas established by the commission for hunting purposes, state marine reserves, and state marine conservation areas. The Department may enter into contracts for fish and wildlife habitat preservation, restoration, and enhancement with public and private entities whenever the department finds that the contracts will assist in meeting the department’s duty to preserve, protect, and restore fish and wildlife.
