Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Resumen

This Law consisting of 36 articles aims at regulating the handling, trading, marketing and circulation of veterinary products in the Emirates. The Law establishes that the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is mandated to (i) facilitate the licensing and registration of companies and factories, as well as veterinary products; (ii) review technical reports received from international organizations or bodies on veterinary products and companies; (iii) monitor markets of veterinary products and prohibit the import or prevent the circulation, withdraw or retrieve the veterinary product, suspend or cancel the registration in case modifications or if reports on the toxicity or serious side effects or existence of a defect in its quality or effectiveness are not submitted; (iv) receive reports from hospitals or veterinary clinics; (v) publish lists of prohibited veterinary products; (vi) approve the advertisement of veterinary products; and (vii) agree to import veterinary products for research or marketing purposes. The Law provides also for (i) the establishment of a Registration Committee of Veterinary Products and their Companies that shall, among others, ensure that the Veterinary Products Plants apply the principles of good practice of pharmaceutical manufacturing upon registration; and (ii) the disposal of the destroyed or expired veterinary products in a way that respects public safety conditions and does not lead to the pollution of environment; (iii) the obligation for companies, factories and warehouses of veterinary products to obtain the required license from the Ministry prior to commencing the practice of any activity; (iv) notification by veterinary companies, factories and warehouses to the ministry of any change in the veterinary product or manufacturer.
