This Federal Law enters into force on the date of its official publication.
Resumen

Criminal Code of the Russian Federation shall be supplemented with Articles 207 (1) and 207 (2) of the following wording: “Article 207 (1) Public dissemination of deliberately false information about circumstances that endanger the lives and safety of citizens Public dissemination, under the guise of reliable reports, of deliberately false information on circumstances that pose a risk to the life and safety of citizens and/or on measures taken to ensure the safety of the population and territories, methods and means of protection against such circumstances - is punishable by a fine of between three hundred thousand and seven hundred thousand roubles or in the amount of the convicted person's wages or other income for a period of between one year and eighteen months, or by compulsory work for a period of up to three hundred and sixty hours of correctional labor for up to one year or restriction of liberty for up to three years. Note. The circumstances that pose a risk to the life and safety of citizens in this article are natural and man-made emergencies, environmental disasters, including epidemics, epizootics and other circumstances resulting from accidents, dangerous natural phenomena, disasters, natural and other disasters that have resulted in (or may result in) loss of life, damage to human health and the environment, significant material losses and violation of the living conditions of the population"; Article 207 (2) Public dissemination of deliberately false socially significant information with grave consequences 1. Public dissemination under the guise of reliable reports of deliberately false socially significant information, resulting in negligent harm to human health, - is punishable by a fine of between seven hundred thousand and one million and five hundred thousand roubles, or at the rate of the convicted person's wages or other income for a period of up to eighteen months, or by punitive work for a period of up to one year, or by compulsory labor for a period of up to three years, or by deprivation of liberty for the same period. The same act resulting in the death of a person by negligence or other serious consequences - shall be punishable by a fine of between one million and five hundred thousand and two million roubles or the equivalent of the convicted person's wages or other income for a period of between eighteen months and three years, or by punitive work for up to two years, or by compulsory labor for up to five years, or by deprivation of liberty for the same period. Article 236 shall be amended to add the following wording: “Article 236 Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules 1. A violation of the sanitary-epidemiological rules, resulting in a mass disease or poisoning of people through negligence, or creating a threat of such consequences is punishable by a fine of between five hundred thousand and seven hundred thousand roubles or at the rate of the convicted person's wages or other income for a period of between one and eighteen months, or by deprivation of the right to hold certain posts or to engage in certain activities for a period of between one and three years, or by restriction of liberty for up to two years, or by compulsory labor for up to two years, or by deprivation of liberty for the same period. 2. 2. A violation of the sanitary and epidemiological regulations resulting in the death of a person by negligence is punishable by a fine of between one million and two million roubles or the equivalent of the convict's wages or other income for a period of between one and three years, or restriction of liberty for a period of between two and four years, or compulsory labor for a period of between three and five years, or deprivation of liberty for the same period. A violation of the sanitary and epidemiological regulations resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence -is punishable by four to five years' forced labor or five to seven years' imprisonment."
