Resumen

This Decision validates method of field approbation of varietal crops (plantings) of agricultural crops and method of ground control of agricultural crops. The requirements for variety sowing (planting) include: (a) seeding (planting) with pure-grade seeds; (b) compliance with the norms of spatial isolation of variety crops (plantings) and (or) availability of a dividing strip (except for varietal crops (plantings) intended for seed multiplication in vitro); (c) exclusion of the possibility of mechanical contamination of a variety with seeds of hardly separable agricultural crops at all stages of seed multiplication, ruling out the possibility of varietal contamination (planting) difficult to separate, noxious, poisonous, and quarantine weeds; (d) eliminating the possibility of contamination of variety crops (plantings) with seed-borne diseases; (e) compliance with seed production technologies (including hybrid seed production of hybrid seeds) established by the variety's originator (correlation of male and of female plants on the hybridization plots); (f) compliance with the minimum time interval between sowing (planting) of an agricultural crop of the same variety and any other agricultural crop of the same species, which shall be not less than two years for grain crops, grain legumes and corn, for cruciferous crops, fodder crops, oil crops, cereals and pulses at least five years, flax and sunflower for at least seven years, and other crops for at least one year. Approbation of variety crops (plantings) shall be performed in several stages: (a) preliminary examination of variety crops (plantings); and (b) final examination of variety crops (plantings). Depending on biological characteristics of an agricultural plant and condition of a variety crop (planting) during the growing season may be carried out several preliminary surveys. Confirmation that the sown seeds belong to the claimed variety and origin of sown seeds shall be ensured by the applicant with documents containing information on variety and (sowing) qualities of seeds.
