Resumen

These Drinking Water Quality Standards (DWS) are based on the latest WHO drinking water quality guidelines (2003) and those of other countries with particular adaptation to the water quality problems in Cambodia. The aim of these Standards is to ensure that drinking water will be safe in the future, that there are no health risks to the public, to serve as a basis for the design and planning of water supply treatment, and to provide a benchmark for assessing long-term trends in the performance of the water supply system. The DWS are applicable as the minimum requirement to all sources of drinking water in both urban and rural areas, public or private water supply regardless of its source including groundwater, surface water, rainwater, intended for human consumption. The Standards also incorporate guidelines on quality monitoring and methods of sampling.
