Resumen

These Regulations lay down compositional and labelling requirements for dietary foods for special medical purposes as defined in regulation 3. Such dietary foods are classified in three categories: nutritionally complete food, which may constitute the sole source of nourishment; nutritionally complete food with a formulation for a specific disease; and nutritionally incomplete food for a specific disease. Dietary foods for special medical purposes may be marketed only if they comply with rules laid down in these Regulations. The dietary food shall comply with the criteria regarding their composition as laid down in the Schedule. When a dietary food to which these Regulations apply is placed on the market, the manufacturer or the importer shall notify the Superintendent of Public Health by forwarding a model of a label used for the product.
