Decree No. 287 of the Cabinet of Ministers validating Model Regulation for performance of social environmental audit.

This Decree establishes that social environmental audit shall be performed by local government, non-government non-commercial organizations and by citizens. Social environmental audit shall be based upon the following principles: (a) legality; (b) objectivity; (c) independence; (d) transparency; and (e) protection of rights and legal interests of individuals, society and the state. Social environmental audit shall perform the following functions: (a) prevention, identification and suppression of environmental offences; (b) environmental monitoring; (c) determination of compliance of projected or performed economic activity with ecological requirements; (d) protection of rights and legal interests of natural and legal persons in the sphere of environmental protection and rational nature management; and (e) and environmental information of public and other organizations, and citizens.
