Issuance of authorization shall be performed in accordance with the procedures established in the Annex 1. The issuing authority shall be the Ministry of Public Health. Import and manufacturing of food additives shall be authorized after the outcome of toxicological and hygienic assessment. The period of validity of the authorization shall be 5 years.
