This Decree enters into force on 31 December 2014.
Resumen

This Decree validates “Hygienic requirements for migration of chemicals emitted by materials contacting with foodstuffs” and “Hygienic requirements for MRL of chemicals emitted by materials contacting with foodstuffs”. The scope of this Decree shall be to ensure food safety in the process of packaging of foodstuffs. Thus it establishes maximum allowable limits of emissions of chemical substances by packaging materials used for packaging of foodstuffs. This Decree specifies that the manufacturers of packaging materials (plastic, ceramic, wood, metal and glass) shall ensure that packages must not exceed establishes MRL, must not have extremely intense and strong smell and shall not alter taste, color and aroma of foodstuffs.
