This Decree, consisting of 28 articles divided into five Chapters and one Annex, approves the Wildlife Corridor Classification of Tchetche. Without prejudice to the provisions of the Framework Law on Protected Areas, the Wildlife Corridor main objective is to carry out an active intervention in terms of management, to ensure the conservation of ecological processes in the connection areas between the Protected Areas, adjust the environmental liabilities and provide integration between local communities and Protected Areas, reconciling the presence of biodiversity, valuing socio-biodiversity and sustainable development practices in the local, national and international context. The Wildlife Corridor also has the following functions: a) Provide connectivity in landscapes, ecosystems and natural and/or modified habitats by human action; b) Mitigate and reverse the effects caused by the fragmentation of landscape and habitats; c) Maintain and restore native and original ecosystems; d) Serve as a connector between other protected areas; e) Encourage the flow of individuals and genetic exchange between landscape fragments, habitats and other conservation units; f) Contribute to the protection and conservation of migration routes for the large terrestrial fauna; g) Ensuring the permanent and/or seasonal flow of species for food, mating period, reproduction, refuge and growth; h) Block harmful processes for populations of certain organisms; i) Manage the occupation of territory and regulating the use of natural resources through norms; and j) Promote sustainable economic and human development from a sociocultural and ecological point of view.
