This Decree-Law enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Resumen

This Resolution consisting of 17 articles aims at regulating the Land Authority established in 2002. Main thasks of the Authority are (i) recording and documenting the ownership rights of immovable property, preserving it, and working to facilitate its practice; (ii) completing the immovable property registration transactions and the fulfillment and payment of the related fees; (iii) carrying out a comprehensive survey and identification of lands, and organizing their maps and settlement procedures; (iv) creating and maintaining a national network; (v) managing and preserving state property; (vi) following up on the implementation of leasing, authorization, and allocation decisions for government lands; (vii) following up on the implementation of land acquisition decisions for the public benefit; (viii) conducting a comprehensive assessment of the values ​​of immovable funds for the purposes of conducting registration transactions; (ix) documenting and preserving real estate ownership information; (x) developing and updating the real estate database to be adopted as the basis for the national geographic system; and (xi) organizing the survey profession and real estate offices. Article 6 provides for the formation of a National Land Council by decision of the President of the National Authority with the main task of approving the following (i) general land policies; (ii) Authority’s plans, programs and activities; (iii) the annual budget and submitting it to the Council of Ministers for approval; (iv) the periodic and annual reports related to the Authority’s activities; and (v) the Regulations and submitting them to the Cabinet for approval. The President of the Land Authority shall be appointed by a decision of the President of the Palestinian National Authority upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
