The objective of the Decree-Law aims to prevent the spreading of pine wilt disease and, when possible, its eradication, proceeding with the implementation of the phytosanitary protection measures provided for in Commission Decision 2006/133/EC of 13 February, amended by Commission Decision 2009/993/EU of 17 December. In addition, it establishes: a) Terms of the application of the measures approved by FAO International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM Standard No. 15), relating to wooden packaging material; b) Phytosanitary measures related to coniferous wood; c) Requirements relating to the manufacture, treatment and marking of packaging material and wood treatment, as well as the regime applicable to their transport.
