Entry into force notes
This Decree-Law enters into force under legal conditions.
Resumen

This Decree-Law, consisting of 4 Chapters and Annex, creates the Maritime and Harbour Institute of Sao Tomé e Príncipe (IMAP-STP) and approves its Statute (in the Annex). It also applies for water pollution prevention and marine environment protection. The Decree-Law is divided as follows: General provisions (Chap. I); Monitoring and control (Chap. II); Organization and functioning (Chap. III); Final provisions (Chap. IV). The Statute, consisting of 5 Chapters, specifies composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, entitled to: develop all aspects related to vessels, merchandise, crew safety on board; to contribute to maritime protection and to regulate any activity related to this sector.
