Resumen This Decree-Law, consisting of 24 articles, creates the Tourism Institute of Portugal, designated by Turismo de Portugal, IP as a public institute of special treatment under the State administration, endowed with administrative and financial autonomy. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution entitled to carry out the following actions: holding public spending, including the delimitation of competence for the authorization of expenditure; procurement, including the immunity to the system of procurement entities linked to the national system of public procurement; information, advertising and promotion. The Turismo de Portugal, IP has the task of supporting investment in the tourism sector, qualification and development of tourism infrastructure, coordination of internal and external promotion of Portugal as a tourist destination and the development of training of human resources in the sector, and the regulation and supervision of betting and games.
