In particular, section 5 establishes that no person shall carry any dangerous goods in a vehicle on a highway unless: a) all applicable prescribed safety requirements are complied with; and b) the vehicle and all containers and packaging comply with all applicable prescribed safety standards. Furthermore, the Act deals with, amongst others, issues such as inspectors and analysts, certificate evidencing inspection of sealed sample, right to stop and inspect vehicles and their cargo, powers of inspector, right to seize and detain vehicles, duty to assist inspector, etc. The Act consists of 17 sections and 1 Schedule.
