Entry into force notes
These Regulations enter into force on 25 October 2018.
Resumen

The objectives of these Regulations, made under section 52 of the Dangerous Goods Act 1985 and consisting of 247 sections divided into 22 Parts and completed by one Schedule, are: a) to set out the obligations of persons involved in the transport of dangerous goods over land; b) to reduce as far as practicable the risk of personal injury, death, property damage and environmental harm arising from the transport of dangerous goods over land; c) to give effect to the standards, requirements and procedures of the ADG Code so far as they apply to the transport of dangerous goods over land; d) to promote consistency between the standards, requirements and procedures applying to the land transport of dangerous goods and other modes of transport; and e) to make consequential amendments to the Dangerous Goods (Explosives) Regulations 2011 and the Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling) Regulations 2012.
