Resumen This Complementary Law, consisting of four Titles and one Annex, establishes the Master Plan for Urban Planning in the Municipality of Florianópolis. It provides for the Urban Development Policy, the Land Use Planning and Settlement, Urban instruments and Management System. This Complementary Law provides for territorial and urban development according to legislation, established by Federal Law No. 10.257 of 2001, City Statute, the Constitution of the State of Santa Catarina and the Organic Law of Florianópolis. The Master Plan of the Municipality of Florianópolis is the agreement aiming to organize the occupation of the municipality itself in order to provide quality of life for the entire population, based on social values and to ensure sustainable development, practiced in close relation with the environmental and cultural heritage. The set of principles and rules of this Law is a commitment that goes beyond the interests of population, it is a covenant that protects the heritage received from nature and who last lived in town and sets up a deal of responsibility for the current with future generations of citizens of Florianópolis.
