Subject to the Treaty, the Common Market shall, in Uganda, have the legal capacity of a body corporate with perpetual succession and may acquire, hold, manage and dispose of movable and immovable property and sue and be sued in its corporate name. Any enactment in existence at the commencement of this Act shall have effect with such modifications as may be necessary to give effect to this Act. The Minister responsible for trade may, by statutory instrument, made with the prior approval of Parliament, make such provisions as may be necessary for the purpose of giving full effect to the Treaty by Uganda and for the purpose of giving full effect to this Act taking into account the gender dimensions.
