Foodstuffs intended for analysis should be submitted to laboratories in accordance with the provisions of article 3 of Directive 93/99/EEC. Four Annexes are attached to the Recommendation. Annex I describes the validated methods concerning analysis of foodstuffs for verifying compliance with labelling of GMOs hereby recommended by the Commission. Annex II lays down a recommended model to be followed in the labelling of genetically modified foodstuffs. Models concerning on the one hand bacteriological safety of pre-cut fresh fruits and vegetables and of sprouted seeds and, on the other hand, bacteriological safety of fruit and vegetable juices are given in Annexes III and IV respectively.
