This Regulation updates Council Regulation (EC) No. 1099/2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing. The amendments and addenda concern Annex I (which sets out the list of approved stunning methods) and Annex II (which sets out the requirements regarding the layout, construction and equipment of slaughterhouses).
