This Resolution enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Resumen

This Resolution consisting of 12 articles aims at establishing the National Center for Desert Locust under control of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Marine Resources. Tasks of the Center are the following (i) preparing plans and programs to explore and control locusts and follow up their implementation; (ii) providing the requirements for exploration and control of pesticides, spraying equipment and radio communication devices, and the various means of transportation necessary to perform its work; (iii) contacting the relevant authorities to secure and manage the urgent needs to implement the emergency control campaigns for locusts; (iv) supervising the agricultural aviation activity through (1) participation in campaigns to eradicate agricultural pests and desert locusts by aerial spraying; (2) planting seeds by air methods and extending agricultural lands and protected public and private pastures with fertilizers; (3) combating fires that may affect agricultural crops and forests; (4) carrying out aerial photography work for the purpose of planning agricultural lands and projects; and (5) providing transportation services for agricultural products among the divergent agricultural projects, marketing centers and warehouses inside and outside the country; (v) training specialized technical personnel in the areas of locust exploration and control; and (vi) cooperating with specialized centers in other countries. The center is managed by a Management Committee consisting of a chairman and four members. The Center's Management Committee shall undertake the development of plans and programs necessary to achieve the objectives assigned to it within the framework of the general plan for the sector.
