Resumen An Act to make provision for the biological control of pests in Queensland. It consists of 56 sections divided into 9 Parts. Target organisms, which are likely to be controllable by biological means are identified through the procedure set in Part 2 which ends with a declaration of target organisms done by the Queensland Biological Control Authority, established by section 8 of the Act. Part 3 sets the procedure to be followed to identify agent organisms, likely to control target organisms. The procedure is finalized by a declaration of the Queensland Biological Control Authority. Part 5 regulates the release of agent organisms in the environment. Part 7 regulates inquiries to be conducted, on request of the Queensland Biological Control Authority, to investigate the effects of target organisms and agent organisms on humans and on the environment.
