Resumen

The Bangladesh Veterinary Council established under the Bangladesh Veterinary Practitioners Ordinance, 1982 (Ordinance No. XXX of 1982) shall be deemed to have been established as the Bangladesh Veterinary Council under this Act. The Council shall be a statutory body and shall have a permanent continuance and a general seal and, subject to the provisions of this Act, shall have the power to acquire, possess and transfer property, both movable and immovable, and may sue in its own name and may also be sued in that name. For the registration of a person as a veterinary practitioner, he shall apply to the Council in the prescribed manner and subject to payment of fees, including a certificate of educational qualification in veterinary subject with a degree recognized under schedule numbers 1 and 2 or sub-section (5) of section 15. (2) Upon receipt of an application under sub-section (1), the Council- (a) In the light of the criteria and policies prescribed by examining the information mentioned in the application and if any examination is taken under section 18, then if the examination is passed, then the person shall be registered as a veterinary practitioner; And (b) If the applicant is ineligible for registration, he shall not be registered and the application is rejected: inform the applicant of the reason for the same. The Council shall include in a registration book the names of veterinary practitioners registered under sub-section (2) and publish and preserve them. Registration shall be renewed by the registered veterinary practitioner every four (4) years in the manner prescribed. If a registered veterinary practitioner acquires any additional educational qualification or certificate in veterinary matter, the Council shall include such qualification against his name in the registration book in response to the application.
