Resumen The present Ordinance implements parts of the Agriculture Law for the Canton of Solothurn of 4 December 1994. In particular, it regulates the competence, proceedings and enforcement in case of animal disease, animal waste, animal protection, as well as trade in animals. The animal disease police is the competent authority for the implementation of all related regulations. Article 5 lists the tasks of the animal disease police. A central register on animal diseases shall be kept by the canton. All waste from animals which cannot be disposed of by the animal holder shall be transferred to the regional collecting place (art. 39). Furthermore, anyone who collects kitchen or foodstuffs leftovers with a view to use or sell it as animal feed needs a special authorization released by the official cantonal veterinary (art. 43). The same applies in case of artificial insemination (art. 45). Anyone who keeps animals is obliged to notify at once the outbreak of an animal disease to the official veterinary (art. 47).
