The levy shall be- (a) payable to Agricultural Marketing Fund no later than seven days of the month following the month in which- (i) the chicks were produced; (ii) the cattle were slaughtered; (iii) the milk bought. It shall be collected into three sub funds, namely: beef, dairy and poultry. the levy shall be used by the Agricultural Marketing Authority. promote- (a) surveillance, prevention and control of animal disease in accordance with the Animal Health Act; (b) research on appropriate technologies in livestock production and animal health; (c) transparent grading and classification of livestock and livestock products: (d) orderly marketing of livestock: (c) investment in veterinary infrastructure; (f) sustainable animal husbandry practices.
