Resumen The subject of cooperation within the framework of the Agreement is the interaction of the Parties in organizing and carrying out fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of meteorology, active impact on meteorological and other geophysical processes, climatology, agrometeorology, hydrology, glaciology, oceanology, heliogeophysics, monitoring of environment and environmental pollution, including ionosphere and outer space. The Parties shall interact in the following areas: (a) studies of the atmosphere, ionosphere, cryosphere, ocean, land and its surface waters in order to develop methods for the analysis of hydrometeorological and geophysical areas and natural hazards, mathematical modeling of their dynamics and forecasts, as well as the creation of databases of geospatial information resources, including those based on space systems; (b) development of scientific research into hydrometeorological and climatic processes in the polar regions and the world ocean; (c) research on predictability of the climate system, including predictability of climatic anomalies and climatic extremes; (d) study of past geosphere and paleoclimate development history in order to perform assessment of modern environmental development in the context of natural and anthropogenic changes; (e) identifying and studying the links between climatic changes and risks of natural hazards and social and economic losses and risks of deterioration in the quality of life and health of the population; and (f) development of promising methods for environmental monitoring and environmental pollution, including ground-based (direct and remote), aviation and space-based observation facilities.
