Resumen This Administrative Regulation, consisting of 6 articles and one Annex, regulates the use of sweeteners in foodstuff. It lays down the types of sweeteners permitted in foodstuff, the categories of foodstuff which enable them to be used and the maximum level of use of certain sweeteners in certain categories of foodstuff with a view to safeguarding food hygiene and safety. Three tables of standards on the use of sweeteners in foodstuff are set out in the Annex to this Administrative Regulation, of which it forms an integral part. This Administrative Regulation shall not apply to foods intended for particular dietetic use, with the exception of infant formulas, infant transitional foodstuffs, infant formulas for special medical purposes, as well as food supplements intended for infants and young children. The use of sweeteners in foodstuff shall comply with the provisions of this Administrative Regulation and the standards set out in its Annex. Sweeteners not permitted under Article 1 (2) shall not be used in foodstuff. The use of authorized sweeteners outside the categories of permitted foodstuff shall be prohibited.
