Resumen

The objectives of this Act is to increase the reuse of public information for the benefit of society as a whole. Reuse of public information refers to the use of such information by a private party for a different purpose than was intended when it was obtained by a public party. Sharing of information between public bodies in the interest of their work is not considered to be reuse of information. The Act applies to the reuse of existing information that is in the possession of the government and that the public has the right to access. A public entity is obliged to comply with a request for authorization to re-use existing information in the custody of a public entity to which the public has the right to access on the basis of the Information Act or other laws, under the conditions described in this Act. The Act regulates the general as well as special conditions for the reuse of public information; prohibition of franchise agreements; the procedure for re-using public information; complaints; etc.
