Resumen

The Act consists of 28 articles divided into 5 chapters. It distinguishes animal feeds into 4 categories: 1) simple feeds of vegetable origin; 2) simple feeds of animal origin; 3) compound feeds; 4) feed supplements. The authority in charge of the issue of the authorization to the production of animal feeds, the amount of the licensing tax to be paid and the information to be provided concerning the ingredients of the feeds shall vary according to the above-mentioned categories. Article 9 establishes a Technical Commission under the Ministry of Health, with advisory powers in the cases provided for by law and as and when requested by the governmental bodies concerned. Chapter III concerns all the information to be provided by any person engaged in the trade of animal feeds, including the denomination of the goods, the name and address of the producing firm, the address of the plant, the composition of the feeds. Final provisions regard enforcement measures and penalties in case of offences.
