The consumer complaint alleged, among other things, that the Public Utilities Commission (Maine PUC) failed to take into consideration the potential health and safety issues related to radio frequency radiation emitted by smart meters prior to approving CMPs smart meter installation project. The Supreme Judicial Court of Maine, the States highest court, vacated a portion of the Maine Public Utilities Commission order dismissing the complaint. In vacating that portion of the Maine PUCs order, the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine found that the Maine PUC failed adequately to address the health concerns raised by consumers.
