Abstract

This Protocol lays down the conditions governing fishing by Community vessels in Madagascar’s fishing zone. Such conditions are contained in the Annex attached, which is structured as follows: (1) Application for and issued of licences; (2) Validity of licences and payment of fees; (3) Statement of catch and statement of fees; (4) Communications; (5) Observers; (6) Employment of seamen; (7) Fishing zones; (8) Use of port facilities; (9) Inspection and monitoring of fishing activities; (10) Transhipment; (11) Provision of services; (12) Procedure in case of boarding; (13) Embarkation of observers. In particular, Community vessels shall have access to all waters under Madagascar’s jurisdiction outside the coastal zone of twelve nautical miles.
