Abstract

(Source: IUCN ELC, 08.2005) Objective: To prohibit the use in war of asphyxiating, poisonous or other gases, and of bacteriological methods of warfare. Summary of provisions: The High Contracting Parties accept this prohibition and agree to extend it to the use of bacteriological methods of warfare. Moreover, they undertake to exert every effort to induce other States to accede to the Protocol.
