Abstract

Pursuant to article 4 of the Agreement, the Protocol establishes annual fishing rights for tuna vessels, trawlers and other vessels, and freezer trawlers. It establishes also the total number of fishing days and the modalities for the payment of the financial compensation referred to in article 9 of the Agreement. The Community shall contribute the sum of ECU 80.000 towards the financing of scientific programmes designed to improve knowledge on the fish resources within the waters of The Gambia. The Annex to the Agreement regarding the conditions for the exercise of fishing activities by Community vessels in The Gambia's fishing zone is repealed and replaced by the Annex to this Protocol. The Protocol is followed by one Appendix containing the application form for fishing vessel to fish in Gambian waters.
