Abstract

The object of this Protocol is to facilitate trade between the Community, on the one hand, and the Czech Republic, on the other hand, in live animals, animal products and plant products. The Protocol is divided into the following Chapters: (I) General Provisions; (II) Provisions for trade; (III) Inspection and verification procedures; (IV) Notification and safeguard provisions; (V) Financial and Technical Assistance; (VI) Final and institutional provisions. Eight Annexes are attached. Annex I specifies the animals, animal products, plants and plant products to which these provisions shall apply. Trade between the Contracting Parties is permitted provided that none of the diseases listed out in Annex III occurs and in compliance with the conditions laid down in Annex V. Articles 4 and 5 set forth the regionalization and the equivalence principles respectively. Inspection and checks shall be carried out on imports.
