Abstract

This Minute of the International Boundary and Water Commission addresses the issue of conveyance capacity of the certain parts of the Colorado river and the sediment removal at the Morelos Dam area. The Commissioners make various considerations and on the basis of these considerations submit resolutions for approval to the two Governments. The resolutions concern emergency sediment removal works bot by the Government of the U.S. and the Government of Mexico at their respective expense, and assistance by the United States Bureau of reclamation in removing sediment on the Mexican part, presentation by the U.S. side of alternatives for the increase of conveyance capacity of the Colorado River within 90 days, coordination by the Commission of efforts by both sides and priority to be given on the short, medium, and long term to studies regarding flood conveyance.
