Such initiatives shall include: exchange of scientists, in order to encourage the elaboration of joint research projects; consultation and convocation of joint seminars to exchange information and to discuss and plan cooperative efforts. The National Research Council ("Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche") is designated by the Government of Italy as the national agency most appropriate to carry out the activities covered by this Understanding (art. 4).
