Abstract

The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to document certain agreements and understandings between the Department of Agriculture of the United States and Forestry Canada to improve coordination of forestry-related programmes undertaken in the two countries in order to maximise program capabilities, to avoid duplication of effort, and to encourage joint efforts to resolve common problems (II). The lead agencies shall be for the United States the Forest Service and for Canada Forestry Canada. Point VI of the Memorandum outlines the responsibilities of the Parties. Point IX includes a part on intellectual property.
