Summary of provisions: Parties agree that the owner of a sea-going ship may limit his liability in accordance with the Convention in respect of claims arising from occurrences listed in article 1. The Convention defines the scope of the liability and the amounts to which the owner may limit it (art. 3), and provides for the competence of national Courts addressing such claims.
