Abstract

This Agreement establishes the conditions governing access by Community fishing vessels to Mauritanian fishing zones, upon financial contribution according to the conditions specified in the Protocol and Annexes. It lays down the principles, rules and procedures governing economic, financial, technical and scientific cooperation between the European Community and Mauritania in the fisheries sector. The aim is to establish responsible fishing in Mauritanian fishing zones to guarantee the conservation and sustainable exploitation of fisheries resources and develop the Mauritanian fisheries sector.
