Abstract

The Parties agree on procedures with respect to requests of one party to visit a vessel of the other party to verify compliance with drifnet fishing regulations (commas [a], [b], [d], [e], [f] and [g]). The visiting officials may verify compliance with drifnet fishing regulations, remove any anadromous species on board, document incidental catches of marine mammals, seabirds, and anadromous species, and take representative samples of these resources (comma [c]). The appropriate authorities will ensure that the visit and verification procedure for driftnet vessels will also apply to all transport vessels (comma [h]).
