Abstract

Each Party shall authorize the fishing vessels of the other Party to carry fisheries within the fishing areas under its jurisdiction outside the twelve-kilometre zone in the Baltic sea calculated from the boundaries of the territorial sea (art. 1). Each Party shall annually determine the total allowable catch (art. 2). Each Party shall set annually for the fishing vessels of the other Party quotas and fishing areas with the consideration of the traditional and customary fishing rights (art. 3). Fishing vessels of each Party shall register daily fishing areas, fishing efforts and catch. The registers shall be available for the whole fishing season for inspection by the Party under which jurisdiction the fishing area is posted (art. 5). The competent authority of one of the Parties shall promptly inform the competent authority of the other Party of the registration number, fishing gear and other data regarding the proper fishing vessels (art. 6).
