Abstract

This Agreement has been concluded in order to establish the principles, rules and procedures which shall govern: (a) economic, financial, technical and scientific cooperation in the fisheries sector, with a view to ensuring the conservation and sustainable exploitation of fisheries resources, as well as developing the Mozambican fisheries sector; (b) the access of Community fishing vessels to Mozambican waters; and (c) economic activities in the fisheries sector and in related activities. The fishing activities carried on by Community fishing vessels in Mozambican waters shall be subject to a licence scheme (art. 7). The Protocol to this Agreement establishes the fishing opportunities and related financial compensation to be paid by the Community.
