Abstract

This Exchange of Notes, constituting an Agreement between the Government of Australia and the Government of the Democratic Republic of East Timor, shall, until the entry into force of the Timor Sea Treaty, govern the exploration and exploitation of petroleum in the area, the coordinates of which are set out in annex A to this Exchange of Notes. Nothing contained in this Exchange of Notes and no acts taking place while this Exchange of Notes is in force shall be interpreted as prejudicing or affecting Australia's or the Democratic Republic of East Timor's position on, or rights relating to a seabed delimitation or their respective seabed entitlements.
