Summary of provisions/Institutional mechanism: A European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organisation is established (art. 1). The Organisation is to act, with FAO, as a regional plant protection organisation under article 8 of the International Plant Protection Convention, 1951. It is to advise, assist and co-ordinate Government measures to prevent the introduction and. spread of plant pests and diseases (art. 5), and to obtain, exchange, study and publish information relating to the same. Schedule 11 contains a list of pests and diseases to be given special attention. This abstract takes into account the 1962 amendment.
