Abstract

This Agreement provides for cooperation between Australia and China on the protection of migratory birds and their environment, and requires each Party to take appropriate measures to preserve and enhance the environment of migratory birds. The Agreement requires the Parties to protect migratory birds by: limiting the circumstances under which migratory birds and their eggs are taken or traded; protecting and conserving important habitats; exchanging information; and building cooperative relationships. The Agreement further contains an Annex listing the species and subspecies of birds for which there is reliable evidence of migration between the two countries.
