Abstract

This Agreement between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Rumania provides for collaboration in the field of quarantine and plant protection. The Parties undertake to use all the possible measures to prevent the transfer of quarantine parasites (as listed in Annex 2 of the Agreement). The authorities of Contracting Parties will supervise and inspect the agricultural cultures, forests, raw materials and plant products during their transportation and conservation in order to detect the infection centres of quarantine parasites dangerous to agriculture and forestry. To prevent the spread of parasites, all the exported plants and products shall be accompanied by phytosanitary certificates in accordance with Annex 3. The Parties may limit or prohibit the import of certain plants or require special conditions for their import. They also undertake to collaborate and exchange information in the field of research and technological advancement. The Agreement is valid for a period of five years and is automatically renewed in case neither Party informs the other on its intention to revoke it within six months from the date of end.
