Abstract

The inclusionof public participation provisions in environmental protection and planning legislation across Australian State jurisdictions is an increasing trend in environmental law in Australia. This article briefly outlines the various models of public participation established by the main environmental statutes in each State juridisdiction. It demonstrates that the trend toward public participation in environmental law across Australia is occurring in parallel with, and indeed is an element of, the 'globalisatin' of environmental law
